Twinleaf

Twinleaf

Jeffersonia Diphylla

Twinleaf prefers shade and medium soil moisture. It will bloom in April and May. If not for the distinct butterfly-looking ‘twinleaves’, the single white flower blooming early spring could easily be mistaken for Bloodroot. Twinleaf tolerates and may prefer calcareous soils. This species (from seed) may be difficult and/or slow to germinate and grow to maturity.
