Switch Grass

Panicum Virgatum

Panicum Virgatum is a tall, stiff, ornamental grass with a pinkish tint. In the summer, the plant produces delicate pink flower panicles. These panicles turn beige in the fall and eventually provide seeds for birds in the winter. Panicum Virgatum tolerates a variety of soils, but is best grown in moist soils with full sun exposure. It can be a great addition to a perennial border.
