Rough Blazing Star

Liatris Aspera

Liatris Aspera is a distinctive plant that blooms bright purple flowers which represent a blazing star, hence the name. Their bloom periods are short, but the flower heads bloom at relatively the same time. Liatris Aspera grows best in dry soils and can be easily found in praires and meadows. Native American tribes once used the Liatris Aspera as food.
