Earth Day 2025

Join us for our 2025 Earth Day planting event!

We are proud of our longstanding collaboration with District 220’s science and horticulture departments! For nearly a decade, high school students have grown native plants in the school’s greenhouse, contributing to local conservation efforts.

In February, D220 horticulture instructor John Ardente, along with BACT Board members Charles Keppel and Richard Lamkey, and BACT staff ecologist Kim Elsenbroek, guided horticulture students in starting hundreds of native plants. These plants will take root at BACT’s Pederson Preserve and Rieke Family Preserve on Earth Day, furthering our shared commitment to ecological restoration.
