Carex Camosa

Comosa actively grows during the spring and fall when soil temperatures are cool. A species of sedge known as longhair or bristly sedge. It prefers wet feet and is often found in wetlands. It is a large tufted shape with lime green, shiny, narrow leaves. In late spring, triangular culms rise above the foliage up to 5′ bearing the distinctive bottlebrush-like spikes that later go to seed and provide food for wildlife.
